GIF and animated WebP/PNG also open, as a static frame (the first one — motion isn’t kept). TIFF opens using a small local decoder. ICO opens when its largest image is stored as PNG, which is true of most modern icon files. HEIC/HEIF (the usual iPhone photo format) opens in Safari; other browsers don’t yet support decoding it locally.
About this tool
Resize to exact dimensions — lock the aspect ratio to scale proportionally from either one, or uncheck it to set width and height independently — or switch to percentage scaling with a couple of common presets alongside a custom value.
Resizing changes pixel dimensions; it doesn’t necessarily make the file smaller. Use Compress for that. Everything happens locally in your browser — the file is never uploaded.
